Airport Gate Equipment

1. Passenger Boarding Bridges

A Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) is an enclosed, elevated passageway which extends from an airport terminal gate to an airplane. In general Passenger Boarding Bridges are with two or three bodies with a hydraulic or electromechanical elevation system having glass or steel tunnels and an increasing or decreasing telescope extension.

A complete line ranges from Apron Drives and Nose Loaders to T-Bridges and Commuter Bridges. It can service all commercial aircrafts, from the largest A380 to smaller jets, and covers every terminal and all apron-specific configuration needs.

Some of the Gate configurations to design Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB) Include, as below:

  • Code C/ Code D Gate = 1 x PBB
  • Code E Gate = 2 x PBB
  • Code E/2C (MARS) = 2 x PBB
  • Code F/2C (MARS) Gate = Upto 3 x PBB

2. Bridge Mounted Equipment (BME)

Out of the various available options, Point-of-Use Bridge Mounted Equipment (BME) remains as the most popular option with customers in the region. 400Hz GPU, Cable Coiler, Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA), Telescopic Air Duct (TAD), Hose Retriever and Hose Basket can be installed under the Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB).

A Typical code C Airplane Viz A320 has 1 x 90Kva Ground Power Connection, and 1 x PCA Connection which extends to 4 x 90Kva and 4 x PCA Connection points for a A380 Code F.

The 400Hz Bridge Mounted Unit consists of GPU system with Cable Carrier Coil. Bridge mounted GPU provides a 115/200 VAC power outlet for the cable carrier system. The power outlet is compatible with the cable carrier system. The GPU is designed with individual phase regulation according to specification, even when using long distribution cables and if the load from the aircraft is unbalanced.

Cable Coiler is a device to connect parked aircraft to the fixed electrical ground power. It is either mounted on a passenger bridge. It consists of a drum with a spiral guide and a motorized drive to unwind the extension cable when in operation and to wind it up and store it on the drum when not in use. The Cable Coiler has upto 26m special 400 Hz flexible aircraft cable.

Direct Expansion Pre-Conditioned Air Unit DX-PCA offers a bridge-mounted (Point of Use) OR Stand Mounted System with optional heat pump technology. Standard tonnage includes 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 for commercial Airport configurations.

With a rock-solid foundation in energy efficient technologies, we are able to provide a PCA solution with unmatched efficiency, flexibility and serviceability. Flexible Hose and OR Telescopic Air Duct (TAD) is used to transfer the Conditioned Air to the Aircraft. Either a motorized Hose Retriever or a Hose basket is installed for Handling the flexible hose.

3. i-AGMS System:

We developed an Integrated Airport Gate Monitoring System (i-AGMS) to transmit all key parameters Interface with Terminal AODB. All the Gate systems such as PBB, VDGS, GPU, & PCA Installed at the Gate are integrated through this system.

It allows customer to monitor all Gate systems through one central location and identifies Position of Passenger Boarding Bridge and other Ground Support services before Aircraft Arrives.

All this data is accessible and monitored through Digital Touch display. The System Improves efficiency, and helps Airport for Fast Turn Arounds thus increasing Operations productivity.
